“Sarah from Talking Menopause provided an insightful overview of the menopause. As part of a set of wellbeing webinars, and the first on this subject, we wish we scheduled additional time to cover the topic in more detail. The session was interactive, and Sarah’s engaging style and limitless subject knowledge resulted in the session receiving excellent feedback.”

Julie Keeble, Head of HR, Honda of the UK Manufacturing Ltd

“Sarah delivered fantastic managers’ and women’s awareness sessions that were informative, thought provoking and engaging. Feedback from attendees was very positive, with both female and male managers attending the manager’s session and using the session to increase their knowledge of menopause and confidence of how to support members of their teams who may be suffering with menopausal symptoms. I fully expect Sarah’s session to have a lasting and positive impact for our staff and look forward to rolling out further menopause initiatives with Talking Menopause especially as around 40% of employees and peri menopausal/menopausal age.”

David Wilkin, Director of Resourcing & Business Change, South Gloucestershire Council

“One of the best training courses I’ve been on - I’m a male manager, with a small female team one of whom is really struggling so I appreciated increasing my knowledge to support her. Rolling this out is essential especially within very male-dominated council departments.”

Practice Manager, South Gloucestershire Council

“Learning about the menopause is something I have never really thought about, and definitely nothing that’s been touched on in the workplace previously, but it’s something that impacts on a huge proportion of employees. I found this session extremely informative and I’m really pleased that the menopause is no longer becoming a taboo subject. The more we learn how to support everyone we work with, the more positive our working lives and company culture will become. Our company will definitely be taking the advice on board to help support women going through the menopause, and encouraging open and honest communication.”

“I am delighted to provide a testimonial for Talking Menopause. Lynda delivered a very engaging session. She has a very in-depth knowledge and also has her own experiences to bring in. We had very positive feedback from colleagues. They tell us that during the session they felt comfortable to share their experiences and have realised that they are not alone and that their symptoms are entirely normal. As an organisation, I believe that Talking Menopause have helped us to change our culture and put menopause at the forefront of our support strategies so that colleagues feel confident to talk to us if they need to.”

We were truly grateful to Lynda who came to speak to our CIPD members in Bournemouth. We explored the effects the menopause can have on many women's experience at work and what employers can do to create a culture of openness around the menopause. The feedback from this session was overwhelmingly positive and and there was much interest from our members in how they could transform their company cultures into menopause-friendly workplaces. Lynda is a very engaging and knowledgeable speaker who has the ability to draw her audience into the discussion and even made the male members feel at ease! I hope we have the opportunity to work together again in the future.

Lynda and Sarah from Talking Menopause delivered a really interesting and engaging event for our supervisors and staff. Everyone that attended learned something new. The feedback from the day was excellent. Staff felt really enthused by what they heard and were able to understand their symptoms were normal. Supervisors felt more informed and able to support their staff.

Lynda and Sarah both have lived experience of the menopause and were a pleasure to listen to.

Detective Superintendent Sharon McDonald, Devon and Cornwall Police

The sessions were engaging, fun and allowed staff to open up and talk about their own experiences. It helped staff to realise they are not alone, help is available and it is OK to talk about the "M" word.

Both sessions Lynda ran for us were engaging, informative and extremely well delivered. Feedback from our staff and managers was excellent, and we now have some great ideas for providing support and guidance to all employees about the menopause.

Laura Chaplin, Senior Human Resources Advisor, Wychavon District Council

We really enjoyed the lunch & learn session about menopause. It was an informative, engaging and quite often humorous session and we had great feedback from the employees who attended. Our first action arising out of the lunch and learn was to set up a working group who will meet regularly to discuss what further initiatives we need to implement to improve and enrich life at work for those experiencing menopausal symptoms.

Nicola Little, Learning & Development Manager, Higgs and Sons

We had a really positive response from those who attended and they found the session very useful, which was our aim! Thank you again, you were fab!

The Talking Menopause team have delivered a broad range of support and development for Devon and Cornwall Police.  This includes Menopause training for line managers, single points of contact and most importantly female staff.  The team have helped the force to deliver important messages, build a strategy to understand and improve the force response to the Menopause and encourage an environment where women can thrive during a potentially challenging time of their life.

The way Sarah and Linda deliver the inputs and engage the audience is inspiring, particularly how they share personal stories and reflections, get people to open up and utilise other guest speakers to deliver the most up to date medical and nutritional information.  Thanks ladies for helping us to support our people and make a difference to women in the service.

Sarah delivered a brilliant and eye-opening presentation that not only engaged an audience at the IOSH but also up skilled all to realise how menopause is an issue that should be taken as seriously as mental health. The presentation was not only professionally delivered and engaging but spurred a lot of us (especially male participants) to see the real and clear issues that women in our workplace face and also has inspired me to champion it at my workplace.

Nationally, menopause has become a much more talked about topic and it was particularly important for us as a Service, to understand how we can support our employees’, together with offering practical advice and guidance to managers about how they can support their staff.

Being a predominately male environment, we knew that there would be some resistance to the training offered, however, through effective communication, managers were clear about why this was being made mandatory and the benefits to their stations, watches and teams.

To date, Talking Menopause have delivered 5 sessions and over 80 managers have attended these.  There are further sessions planned for later in the year and over 30 managers are already booked to attend these events.

Feedback from the training to date has been positive with comments such as:

  • “Really helpful due to my lack of knowledge on the subject”

  • “I will be more open and approachable about the subject”

  • “It was really helpful and much better than expected!”
