The Faculty of Occupational Medicine’s guidelines recommend encouraging discussions with managers about practical needs, speaking with occupational health service and talking to colleagues.  Advice on healthy lifestyle and wellbeing is also mentioned as a key priority when considering menopause management.  Clear recommendations are included about working conditions for menopausal women.

Around 3.5 million women aged over 50 years old are currently employed in the UK and studies have shown that at least 50% of women have reported finding work somewhat or fairly difficult due to their symptoms of menopause.
